#GirlBoss Rally November 2018 - NYC

When I signed up for the #GirlBoss Rally didn’t know what to expect.  Each year my company, Slalom Build, sends us to one conference.  This is an amazing benefit I’ve never received at any of my previous companies.  Most of my coworkers attend AWS Re:Invent but something about drinking, Vegas, and a bunch of guys doesn’t appeal to me. 

As a Software Engineer, I spend most of my time with men.  I wanted to attend a conference where I not only learned, but felt empowered.  It’s not often I get to see people in leadership roles that look like and sound like me or look that different at all.  I wanted to learn from the people who cracked the code, dared to dream, and went for it.

I really loved the ability to tailor my #GirlBoss Rally experience with panels which interest me.  And I could select everything through a handy app on my phone, for this techie, it’s a huge win.  I was able to attend sessions centered in psychology, personal finance, brand building, technology, performance poetry and so much more!
